Love Letters from Somerville

My painting – especially my landscape work – is about communicating a sense of place. Frequently I capture my travels, but much of my work involves painting my local community. I have wandered the streets of Somerville for many years capturing bits of beauty here and there.

In mid July of 2021 I was offered the amazing opportunity to have the inaugural solo show at the Art House, a new gallery in Somerville, dedicated to connecting local artists to the local community.

The foundation of the show was a collection of my plien-air paintings I had completed from around the city and beyond, and still lives I had made through 2020-2021 as we collectively hunkered down during the pandemic. As a special centerpiece focusing on Somerville, I created 4 large-scale works specifically for the show.
